ZHRC Final Report on Zimbabwe 2018 Harmonised Elections
The 2018 harmonised elections have been a mixed bag. Whilst this election could be hailed as one of the most peaceful elections post 2000, the ZHRC’s findings point to challenges in fulfilling the right to vote as provided for in
Statement on the 2018 Harmonised Elections and the Post-Election Environment in Zimbabwe.
The most disturbing post-election incident was the violence that erupted in Harare on the 1st of August 2018, which resulted in property such as cars being destroyed during MDC-Alliance demonstrations.
